No Blue Planet Moment

Peninsular Valdes is the place Blue Planet filmed those incredible shots of Orcas beaching themselves to catch baby seals. It happens at high tide around this time of year, so we did the round trip from BA to the Pennisular - 36 hours by bus, 700 miles in a hire car (mostly on rough, unmade roads) and 12 hours spent watching the same bit of beach. But no sign of Orcas.

It was, however a beautuiful spot and it was great watching the bull seals fight and the pups play. Nearby there is a large Welsh Patagonian community - all very strange. We saw lots of other wild life including thousands of Magellanic Penquins and black and white Commerson Dolphins................ And Marilyn had champagne on the beach for her birthday
